Certifications
Going the Extra Mile
When it comes to certifications, we go above and beyond to ensure that our orchards, cherries and products meet local, state, national and international standards. We believe in growing and harvesting sustainably. We are passionate about growing an excellent cherry, but we do so in ways that are healthy for our planet and our community.
We have exceeded the number of certifications required. These certifications include:
California Certified
We are certified to ship into the state of California.
GlobalG.A.P. Certified
To be Global G.A.P. certified, an agricultural operation must practice safe, sustainable agricultural production. This certification covers a range of issues, including the responsible use of resources and caring for the welfare of workers.
Good Handling Practices (GHP) & Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Domestic Certification
The Orchard qualifies for GAP Certification, a third-party certification process that targets food safety. These certifications are granted through voluntary independent audits offered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). When buyers purchase cherries from Hood River Cherry Company, they can feel confident that the orchard is following appropriate food safety practices and that the fruits are produced, packed, handled and stored in the safest manner possible.
Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) Certified
This certification is granted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to agricultural entities that enforce fair-trade practices.
International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA)
The International Fresh Produce Association is the premiere international business support organization for the global produce community.
Blue Book Online Services Member
